Trump appears to be repeating an article that appeared in the American Tabloid “The National Enquirer”.

The Truth is Senator Cruz spokesperson, Catherine Frazier, stated “The false, cheap, meaningless comments Trump makes almost daily indicates his desperation to get attention and willingness to say anything to do so. We are campaigning on jobs, freedom, and security while Trump campaigns on false tabloid garbage”.

Trump was quoting a report from Fox News that 380 of the 580 people convicted of terrorism in the United States were foreign born.

Alex Nowrasteh of the prestigious Cato Institute writes, “Second, only 40 of the 580 convictions (6.9 percent) were for foreigners planning a terrorist attack on U.S. soil”; he continues to say”Senator Sessions puffed his numbers by including “terrorism-related convictions,” a nebulous category that includes investigations that begin due to a terrorism tip but then end in non-terrorism convictions.”

Nearly 6 weeks has gone by since American President Trump made the claims of illegal votes and so far the U.S. Justice Department, FBI, or Congress has found any evidence to substantiate his claim.

At a rally in April 2016 Presidential Nominee Trump stated, “Don’t believe those phony numbers when you hear 4.9% and 5% unemployment; the numbers probably 28, 29, as high as 35 in fact I even heard recently 42%.

According to the U.S. Labor Department before Trump took office in January 2017 unemployment was 4.8%; adding 227,000 positions added that month. Trump made amply clear in his campaign that he doesn’t care for the way that government agencies and mainstream economists summarize the state of the job market; however he did agree with the February 2017 numbers of 4.7 unemployement which used the exact same formula the U.S. Labor Department has used for over 30 years.

10. Obama Allowed 122 Guantanamo Prisoners Back On The Battlefield

On March 7, 2017 Trump claimed, “122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield.”

The report says that of the 532 detainees released from the detention facility under Bush, 113 under Obama and under Obama, 161 detainees were transferred from Guantanamo Bay and only 9 have been confirmed to have reengaged and returned to the battlefield. That’s just under 6% of the total transferred since 2009.
